Hello, Welcome to Quarter Line Dressage!

I’m Marketa Matthews, I come from the Czech Republic, as an accomplished competition rider with an impressive show record in Europe and now the United States.

Before settling in the Greater St. Louis area I earned my United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Bronze and Silver medals showing in Training Level through Prix St. George. My training philosophy and mission are inspired by world-class mentors who focus on harmony, like Walter Zettl. I strive to hone my skills for my horses and students to continually be a better horsewoman. I accomplish this mission, in part, by hosting world-class trainers and riders for 3-day clinics at the farm periodically throughout the year.

My programs are solely focused on classical principles and strong foundations while maintaining harmony for our mounts. I am known for my patience, skill, and knowledge especially with young stock. These skills assist both partners to quickly improve and remember “new” ways of going.

I have horses and riders competing in all levels of dressage, and I welcome new teams, beginners through advanced. To be in one of my riding programs, you must have your own horse. I have created a warm family community at QLD, and I hope you enjoy viewing the “around the farm” photos.
